WELCOME
The Lake of the Ozarks Woodcarvers Club began in the early 1980s with just a few woodcarvers. It was formalized in 1984 and has currently grown to over 95 members. The club contains carvers of all ages, and beginners to professional carvers. Several of the carvers are instructors and have won awards for their work. Woodcarvers are always willing to teach or help anyone interested in pursuing this art form. The club offers monthly meetings and classes and hosts several seminars annually to members and non-members.

FALL CLASSES

The lake of the Ozarks Woodcarvers Club will be holding beginner and intermediate woodcarving classes this fall for people interested in woodcarving. The beginner class will carve a Santa carving in the round using basswood. The club will provide the tools and wood for the project. This class is appropriate for anyone interested in wood carving and who would like to give it a try. No prior experience is necessary. This is an excellent, low-cost way to learn about carving and see if this is a hobby you would enjoy.
The intermediate class will carve a relief carving of a sunflower with a butterfly in basswood. The club will provide the basswood blanks. This class is for those who have done some carving and want to expand their skills.
Class sizes are limited to ten students per class and the classes are taught by experienced members of the club. The total cost for either class is $40.00. Classes will start on Thursday, September 11th and run weekly through October 16th for a total of six classes. The classes start at 6:30 PM and run to 9:00 PM. They will be held at the Camdenton Community of Christ Church, 42 Sunset Dr., Camdenton.
