WHO WE ARE

AND

WHAT WE DO

WHO WE ARE:

The Lake of the Ozarks Woodcarvers Club

began in the early 1980’s with a few woodcarvers

getting together to enjoy their love of woodcarving.

Formalized in 1984, the group has grown to over 100+

members from all across Missouri and adjoining states.

Our ranks consist of beginners to seasoned carvers,

including members of the elite “Best of Missouri

Hands” state artists group.  We comprise the largest

single grouping of woodcarvers in the state.

WHAT WE DO:

Twice a year we hold beginning/intermediate

carving classes at a local church.

Additionally, we hold 9+ advanced seminars a year

taught by nationally renowned woodcarvers.  More

casual carving get-togethers occur each week at

four different sites in the area.

We participate in local festivals and events demon-

strating the art of woodcarving.  Our members also

present workshops and programs at local schools,

Boy Scout troops, and for civic groups.  We have

participated in the “Eagle Cane Project” providing

individualized canes to wounded veterans nation-wide.

ANNUAL CARVING SHOW:

In 2024, our 8th Annual Show attracted carvers from

Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, and Missouri.  It is one of the

largest woodcarving shows in Missouri.

The 2025 Show will have fifty four “judged”

carving categories with ribbons for the first three

winners in each category, as well as, a grand prize

“Best of Show” winner, and a “People’s Choice” award

voted on by show attendees.  The special “Sponsors

Ribbon” will be awarded to those carvers selected by

the Show’s sponsors.
